I guess that pretty well describes him, how we and his daughters knew him, a kind, gentle soul with intelligence. in many respects he was a big brother to me, as my brothers were older and didn't spend much time with laura and me. you were closer in age to don and bob. and as our family was raised to pretty much go your own way--not particularly helping each other out, john was more the kind of person that would be there for you no matter what and listen, help out if he could (and there was no financial meaning to it). so i can imagine him as a really good father, and it's a shame that blixie didn't see him at the right time to be able to acknowledge that, but you can't change things. i guess what she can get from oona's and his other daughters' thoughts about john was that her father really was a good, intelligent man who many cared about.
nothing ever happened between john and me even though i certainly had more free time...
Lynne Taetzsch was born in East Orange, New Jersey and grew up in Irvington and Newark, New Jersey. She was interested in art from the time she was a child, spending her allowance on arts and crafts supplies, painting the school windows for the holidays, and winning a class drawing contest in eighth grade. As a young teenager she took oil-painting lessons from a local artist and later she was president of her high-school art club. At Rutgers University, the University of Southern California, and the University of California, Lynne took art classes in painting, print-making, drawing and pottery.
